When to use medicated gels
Women use toners, moisturisers, and creams for a reason. Of course, before you apply a product on your skin, you must determine if it is suitable for your skin problem as well as your skin type. If you use something that is not right for your skin dilemma, you have a great chance of ruining your skin and make things worse. Therefore, if you have an acne problem, you should not immediately use medicated gels unless the skin expert tells you so.
If your acne dilemma is not so severe, you can just use over-the-counter anti-acne products. These creams and gels have mild ingredients that would suit all types of skin and acne-related problems.
However, if you have already used these products but haven’t seen results or improvement in your acne, this is the time that you ask for a skin care expert’s recommended medicated topical gels.
Medicated topical gels are recommended to those who have severe acne vulgaris. This is when the acne already has cysts or nodules. Nodules are acne spots that are bigger and usually last for a couple of months. These nodules can also be painful sometimes depending on the severity of the acne. It may leave scars on your skin once the nodule has been cleared out through medicated tropical gels. If you weren’t able to fully resolve the nodules under your skin, it is possible that you an impaction will be left behind. This would certainly cause your skin to have flare ups again. On the other hand, cysts are also like the nodules. However, it is filled with pus. This is the common acne that most people pop out or squeeze which could also leave marks on the skin.
Medicated gels are also advisable for those who are affected by Acne Rosacea. More often than not, men and women who are within the age of 30 to 40 years old have acne rosacea. It often occurs in the cheeks and in the T-zone of the face (chin, nose, and forehead). If you think you have acne rosacea, you must consult a skin care expert at once so that it can be immediately treated. It has different medicated topical gels than the common forms of acne because this is more severe. If the acne rosacea has been left untreated, excess tissue might grow in the affected area. This condition is also known as the rhinophyma.
