What are the different anti bacterial herbs

Are you using a commercial anti bacterial skin wash or you are making your own skin wash at home? But no matter which anti bacterial product you use, these products have one thing in common – the ingredients, particularly the herbs. These natural herbs are the strongest points of the skin wash because of its anti bacterial properties. Below are some of the herbs to choose from if you want to create your own skin wash. These are also the same herbs that you must look for when buying commercial skin wash products.

When you talk about anti bacterial herbs, the most famous herb is the Tea Tree. This herb has been widely used for several skin care products such as facial wash, foot care products, and even sanitary napkins. Tea tree is considered as the best natural antibiotic and has been used by the Australians for more than 80 years to treat infections, specifically in the skin.

Another great anti bacterial herb for your skin wash is the Eucalyptus. The compounds that can be found in the eucalyptus have great anti bacterial properties. The extracts of the said herb inhibits the growth of most bacteria that can be found on the skin.

On the other hand, Lavender is also known for being an excellent herb with anti bacterial properties. More often than not, lavender is used for body as well as facial skin wash not just for its anti bacterial properties but also because of the scent. Aside from killing the bacteria in your skin, it would also leave you feeling fresh after you have washed your skin.

There is another great herb that has anti bacterial properties when you get its extracts. This herb is known as Sandalwood that originated from Australia. Sandalwood is always used for products that would treat and dry up even the most severe form of acne. Aside from acne in your face as well as body, sandalwood can also treat ringworm and even athlete’s foot.

Most of the time, these herbs are mixed with other essential oils that has no anti bacterial properties but moisturising properties instead. It is not really advisable to combine two or more anti bacterial herbs in a skin care product such as the anti bacterial skin wash. The solution or the mixture has the possibility to have strong anti bacterial properties which might result to inflammation, irritation, or redness of the skin.
