How to choose the right shade of foundation
Have you purchased and used a foundation and found out that it only made you look darker or paler than your natural skin tone? Don’t worry. This is a dilemma most women encounter. There are even times that some women buy a make up base just to realize that it only makes their skin oilier or drier than before. If you are want one of them, read on so that you will know how to choose the shade and the type of make up base that is just right for your skin tone.
First of all, before investing your hard earned money in a foundation or any kind of make up for that matter, you must first determine your natural skin tone. Do this by putting or testing the product not on your hand but on your jawline or skin. And instead of relying on the store’s artificial lights, make sure that you determine the perfect shade for your skin where there is day light. To know if the shade is just right for you, it must look invisible or natural on your skin. More often than not, the shades that are yellow-based will easily blend with all types of skin tones. But if in case you belong to those who have pale skin colour, then it is advisable that you choose the foundation that has a cooler shade. However, you must always keep in mind that no two make up manufacturers produce the same shade. So if ever you have bought Shade A from Manufacturer 1, do not expect that Shade A from Manufacturer 2 will give you the same result and would have the same blending effect in your skin.
But for those who do not wish to spend tons of money just to get the right make up base, why not try looking for samplers from your local beauty shop or from the beauty section of the local department stores near you.
There are also some beauty shops where you can get a trial of how the make up base looks like when it is already applied in your skin. Do not hesitate to ask the person in charge for their advice since they know make up better than you do. You can also ask them to apply the make up for you so that you will also learn how to properly use it in case you are new to this thing.
